Meet Dr Alister Seaton.
Good dentistry starts with understanding the person in the chair.
I’m a general dentist with a growing focus on cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign, and a real enthusiasm for teaching. My work across general practice, NHS services and secure settings has shaped a calm, practical and non-judgemental approach to care.
My clinical story
Experience that informs how I care.
I graduated from Newcastle University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and completed my Foundation Training year at Greencroft Lodge Dental Practice, where I continue to work today.
My NHS work in South Shields involved caring for patients with complex and high needs. In 2021, I completed a postgraduate certificate in intravenous (IV) and inhalation (RA) sedation. This training developed my experience of supporting patients who need extra help to access dental care.
I have also worked within the North East prison estate, including a high-security prison. These settings reinforced the importance of clear communication, patience and adapting care to each person’s circumstances.

Teaching & learning
Supporting the next generation.
Education is an important part of my work. In 2025, I completed a postgraduate certificate in Medical Education and served as an Assistant Educational Supervisor at Greencroft Lodge.
In September 2026, I became an Educational Supervisor with my own Foundation Dentist to support. Helping a newly qualified colleague build confidence and develop their clinical skills is a responsibility I value, and it keeps reflection and learning central to my own practice.

Developing my interests
Cosmetic dentistry & Invisalign.
Over the past year, my interest in cosmetic dentistry has continued to grow and I have become Invisalign certified. I enjoy helping patients explore changes to their smile while keeping their dental health and individual goals at the centre of the plan.
I continue to build my skills through further training, with additional courses booked as my work in this area develops.
Facial aesthetics
A considered approach.
I completed foundation and advanced facial aesthetics training with Acquisition Aesthetics, including dermal fillers, completing the advanced course in 2022. I have also travelled to London for additional courses.
My approach starts with listening, assessing suitability and explaining realistic options. You should have time to consider the benefits, risks and alternatives before choosing any treatment.
